One Year Older And Wiser

The one year check-up
WT: 17lbs 13oz 6%
HT: 29.13in 51%
HC: 18.31in 86%

IT'S HERE!
Bottle VS Sippy. So far the bottle is winning. I'm not liking this whole take away the only thing she's known since she was a baby thing. From the looks of it Leila does not like it either. I'm trying to be consistent but it's hard when she pushes the sippy away and cries for like 20 min. She'll only take water in the sippy and milk in the bottle. AHHHH what should I do? If anyone has ANY good ides that they could give me that would be great. Meanwhile we'll continue the war over Bottle VS Sippy.

I say dont worry about it too much. Just keep offering her the sippy, make it fun but don't push it. It will make it stressful for both of you. She will get it eventually.

addi was totally a bottle baby and didn't kick-the-habit until after she was 2. she was extremely emotionally attached to her ba-bas. so i didn't make her get rid of them. but what i did to help it along was only water in bottles, and all flavored beverages were in sippy cups (milk, watered-down juice) and that helped a little.

and the sippy cups with the soft spouts made it easier for her at first ... it wasn't such a huge change that way.

Leila is SOOOOO cute and sweet! I love her!! I can't believe my little Jackson weighs more than her and he is 7 1/2 months! So funny! Anyway, are you and Jared into American Idol? Has anyone told you that you look like Ann Marie Boskovich? She performed last night. I noticed last week that she totally looks like you!!

I say let them have it until they are ready to give it up. Everett is 18 months and he still uses a bottle to sleep with and I am grateful that he has something to comfort him. He also does sippy and adult cups. Don't be worried it really is such a silly battle when you think of it.

ok...crazy...Reese and Leila are the same size. At Reese last check up she was 17 lb. 29 in. and she's 5 months old. She's off the charts in her hight and weight but only 50% in her head.

Leila is so cute. How fun to be one!

Crew had a hard time adjusting to the sippy cup too. I bought a whole bunch of different kinds and he didn't like them or didn't know what to do with them. I found the Gerber transitional cups helpful cause the spout is soft and more like a bottle. After he got that down, switching him to a real sippy cup was easy. By the way, Leila is absolutely adorable, I can't believe she's one already! Also, we drove past your house the other day and the garage was open. Heath checked to see if you guys were outside but you weren't. He wanted to say hi.
